Help with taking calls and responding to emails

We are grateful for any voluntary help that we receive from the public to help us with the message taking side of things, people that call us for help will be diverted to your phone, you will write a brief description of what’s happened and send it to us via email; you will also respond to messages that are sent to us.

You will also be trained to handle emergency situations and what to do if someone is in immediate danger, we always urge the public to contact the police if they at danger but if we do get calls like this we need to know what to do.

If you would like to apply as a volunteer for this role please email “Message Taker” to – Help@scammers-be-gone.co.uk.

Help with investigating suspicious communication such as phone calls, letters, emails and social media profiles

This service is for members of the public to use if they receive a “letter from the bank” or “energy renewal call” people can contact us and we will investigate the situation to find out if it is a genuine document / call.

You will be receiving suspicious documents that members of the public send to us which include things such as bank letters, invoices, and renewal letters, all you will need to do is forward these documents onto us or email us details of the call being reported and we will respond to you within the hour.

In some cases we might need you to investigate further by contacting the company that the letter is apparently from.

Example – If a member of the public sends us a suspicious energy renewal letter from “British Gas” then we way ask you to contact British Gas directly to confirm the letters authenticity,

If you would like to apply as a volunteer for this role please email “Scam Investigator” to – Help@scammers-be-gone.co.uk.

Help us to build a team of “Social Media Scam Hunters” to find, report, and destroy profiles

We are asking for volunteers to help us with our search and destroy approach of removing scammer profiles on social media, we want to build a team consisting of 100 or more people that are spending time purposely hunting out scam profiles.

We will send you a list of social media pages / groups that are a popular hangout for scammers and you will send us messages with their username and links to their profile, we will all then put in a combined and sustained effort to get the profiles removed.

If you would like to apply as a volunteer for this role please email “Social Media Scam Hunter” to – Help@scammers-be-gone.co.uk.
